Alabama Contemporary Dance serves the region as a leader in the field of dance education. The company provides quality in-school and after school programs, grades Pre-K through; and tailors its content and methods to reach learners of all interests and abilities.
Alabama Contemporary Dance utilizes National Dance Standards and the Alabama Course of Study in Arts Education to construct lively, interactive programming. Program options include classroom instruction, teacher workshops, curriculum development, and performances by its talented, diverse company of dancers. Numerous educational offerings are also available outside the school setting.

Dancing the American Experience
"Rainbow Etude"
by Donald McKayle
1. Develop dance literacy by embodying America's cultural and historical past.
2. Experience dance's power to create empathy with the human suffering endured by the men on southern chain gangs
3. Repertory Etudestm are made available through the American Dance Lagacy Institute. Fee - $650
"Looking at Dance"
A 45 minute performance of repertory highlights that helps viewers to cultivate "eyes" for dance. Audience participation is greatly encouraged. Fee - $650
Saenger Theatre
Thursday, April 6, 2006, 1 p.m.
A full-company performance of theatrical magic at the historic Saenger Theatre. Dances make artistic connections with topics in science and social studies. Fee - $500 per school (for up to 250 students)
Dance During and After School
A specially designed, in-residence program. Programs can be created for inclusion as an elective. Suggested minimum is 4 sessions. Fee - $75-$100 per session
